Welcome to Big Sky Country!

Big Sky is a scenic community in Montana 35 miles southwest of Bozeman that sits high within the Gallatin National Forest next to Lone Mountain.  This is the home to Big Sky winter and summer, and provides year-round recreation for outdoor enthusiasts.  The ski resort has over 5,400 acres of groomed trails, a 4,800 foot vertical drop, and virtually no lift lines.  Next door to the Big Sky Resort is the exciting Moonlight Basin which is a bit more challenging and has longer runs.  Best of all, you can combine both Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin on one lift ticket.  Just five minutes from our vacation homes to the mountain and moments to the river, Big Sky offers all the outdoor activities you can think of, including skiing, fishing, golf, rafting, mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding.

Being the fourth largest state in the U.S. Montana offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.  Spend time exploring the vast landscapes; have fun skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling in some of the best snow you can find during the winter.  Montana’s rustic atmosphere is a perfect escape from your daily routine.  Here you feel like your getting to know nature personally without sacrificing any conveniences.  You will see an abundance of wildlife in Big Sky, including deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and others.  You can also take a trip to beautiful Yellowstone, only 45 minutes away is the west entrance to the greatest National Park in America!

In the Winter

Winter snow in Big Sky provides five-star skiing terrain across three interconnected mountains with over 5,400 acres, 200 trails, and 400 inches of annual snow.  You can also find plenty of other winter fun and recreation like snowmobiling, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, ice skating, and wildlife viewing in the surrounding area.  Big Sky is the largest ski resort in North America, and unknown to many ski enthusiasts.

 

In the Summer

Big Sky makes the perfect place to spend your summer relaxing or participating in any of the many activities available including golf, tennis, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and white water rafting.  Located on the magnificent Gallatin River, Big Sky offers spectacular fly fishing on this blue ribbon trout streams and its dozen of adjacent streams and tributaries.

 

Shopping and Dining

Throughout the year in Big Sky, you can find over 25 restaurants, bars and other dining pleasures, a three screen cinema, and shopping in more than 40 places offering everything including, groceries, toys, clothing, jewelry, books, art and more.

 

The Mountains

Big Sky is an outdoor wonderland with three mountains to choose from.  Lone Mountain, Andesite Mountain, and Moonlight Basin all feature great snow play opportunities, with expanded runs and no crowds!  You can also grab your cross-country skis, strap on your snowshoes, and rev up snowmobiles in West Yellowstone throughout the winter.  The Park offers guided tours that run in Yellowstone daily.

 

When you’re done playing, you can take in the Big Sky night life, relax in a soothing jacuzzi or sauna, or take a romantic sleigh ride through the country side.  Big Sky Montana is definitely your home away from home, winter or summer.
